Testimonials:
Just a Note
I took my XJS and the Lister Ground Effects, including the wing, to my
favorite shop Monday. They have been installing things off and on for
years and I know they would do a #1 job for me.
They were very impressed with the quality of the kit, pointing out that
there were no voids or pin holes in the finish. Every employee checked out
the parts and all commented favorably.
The Owner/Manager was impressed enough that he decided to give it one of
his best installations, blending the fibre glass parts to the metal,
shaving them smooth, mudding the edges, etc. He will use the installation
as an example of his work. (Le Roy Thompson- Wellman's Garage & Body
Shop)
His comments made me glad I bought your kit. It should please you, too. He
gives out very few accolades.
It should be finished in a week or two. When it is, I'll make certain you
get a set of photographs of the installation. Mike

The Lister ground effects kit is
the best cosmetic investment you can possibly make. It can take an early
80’s XJS and make it look like a 90’s model. I've had several people
guess at the year of my car and miss the age by making it out to be 10
years younger.
The kit is reasonably easy to install The
first thing you have to do is remove the front and rear bumpers, after
that it is a simple matter of fitting the pieces to the car. There will be
minor tweaking that is necessary as no 2 cars are exactly the same length
and width and this is especially true with cars like the XJS which had a
manufacture run of over 20 years, including tooling changes slight
modifications and etc.
The only real specialized tool you
will need is a dremmel type tool and a few simple hand tools. If you have
experience in bodywork, this will be a breeze for you.
After I fitted the pieces, I sent
them to my paint shop and a day or two later the pieces were complete and
ready for installation You can always install the pieces and then have the
car painted but in my case this was not necessary.
When I had installed the finished
kit. not only did the car look magnificent but I noticed a other positive
changes The first thing I noticed, was the fact that the car handled
better at highway speeds. The kit actually creates down force making the
car have a better grip on the road The other thing I noticed was the
engine was running cooler, the nose piece acts as a funnel ramming air
through the radiator.
I must admit, I did not install the
full kit at once. I installed the wing on the trunk, first then a few
months later I installed the remainder of the kit. The wing was easy to
install, since only 4 holes needed to be drilled, then match the paint.
Most automotive paint shops have the capability of matching your paint
color then putting the paint in an aerosol spray can. I had this done,
then I lightly sanded the wing, primed and then painted it. After the
paint was thoroughly dry I installed the wing. I got instant looks and
compliments.
All in all, this is an excellent
investment of your time and money; I have not once regretted installing
the kit.
